Dinner for 6, those that had ribeye thought it best they had . Others seemed to really enjoy. I had pasta dish was just ok. 4 glasses of wine. Bill of over $450 seemed rather steep.

Excellent food and service. We initially reserved 2 seats and they let us sit 4 with that reservation. The food was amazing! We had the bruschetta and I had the veal special. Our entire party enjoyed their meals. It was delicious. Would definitely go back.

The food was amazing. Tucked away in a little corner downtown San Francisco it may not be the easiest to find, but well worth the effort. Truly authentic Italian food and some amazing customer service. The taste and quality of the food was second to none. A must visit place if you are in the area.

Very good service and tasty. Really love the bread prior to the entree.

So so so good. Having lived in Italy for 2 years, I've been looking for a place that had the same taste and quality I had there, and THIS IS IT! You won't be disappointed :)

This place was amazing. Reasonable price great value, food was so good far better than I expected and the customer service perfect not to much and not to little. I had never had such rich and interesting food, I love pasta and bread but this was different very authentic and service time between our courses perfect. As well I’m pretty all my servers well from Italy. I honestly can’t think how they could have done better. I will be suggesting to all my friends and I will be coming back the next time I’m in town.

Very fresh pasta with top ingredients. Also don't forget to try the Tiramisu, it's amazing!

Decent Italian fare, just wish it had a more rustic menu. Everything is a little floofy. How about a good lasagna or spaghetti?

Nice personnel specially the Mexican barista. Food well presented but not very tasty. Short pasta menu. No chance getting a table if you walk in alone, had to eat at the bar.

Dinner here was simply amazing. I was here with a large group of friends. I don't think anyone was disappointed. We all shared the truffle risotto and it was easily one of the best dishes I have ever had.

Very nice atmosphere, more on the formal side. Good service. Great quality and taste. Gnocchi had a handmade consistency and the short rib was super flavorful!

This has become my new favorite restaurant in San Francisco. Everything about it was great! The food the ambiance and best of all the staff who couldn't have been nicer or more friendly.I'll be there next month when I'm in San Francisco again.

This was the best tasting Italian food I believe I've ever ordered. We had exceptional service from our female waitress. I let her order for me and was very impressed with everything from appetizer to dessert. Also, their drinks were unique and never tasted anything like them before. Love the charm of the old building medicine.

Fabulous service and delicious Italian food. We had pastas and loved them.

This is an authentic Roman Italian restaurant. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the tomato sauce was the best I have had in the US, and the fish was seasoned just right! Don't miss the amazing dessert too!

Great ambience and excellent romanesque food. Family diiner concept. Highly recommended.

Great gluten free options! They even had 2 offerings for pasta. Plus the waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine selection!

Great food. It met the needs of eight very diverse individuals.

Had a business lunch here. The place was empty when I got there but was packed within minutes. Probably a good idea to make reservations in advance. Professional services by the staff explaining their pasta making process as well as a couple of the specials. The grilled octopus was devine with melt in the mouth tenderness. Our pasta was as good as hyped. The $19 3 course lunch was an excellent value! Overall can recommend this place.

Great Italian delivery. Classic flavors at a reasonable price. The tripe was full of flavor and the croquettes were excellent. Had a nice creamy pasta alfredo and a very meaty bolognese with gnocchi. Topped it all off with their fantastic panna cotta for dessert. Two wine glasses upðŸ·ðŸ·

Service was amazing and the food was super. We arrived pretty early in the evening our food came pretty quickly.Everything was really nice, simple proper food. Decent selection of wines and I appreciate that the entire menu including wine was not pages and pages. Prices are pretty good. Even great for San Francisco.

The food here is amazing! The staff have great suggestions. They are also very nice and the wait is not too bad. I belive the restaurant is reservations only, so boom in advance. It's a great little spot!

Came for Valentine’s Day. Pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, but we paid almost $300 for a fairly mediocre meal. I’d save yourself the trip!

Excellent overall Italian Experience, charm, beauty.$19 special - we should have asked for the special with soups and/or salad plus a meal. We asked our server to change our order and she did not. Wish we would have known about the special.FoodExcellent homemade pasta and gnocchi. There is a wait for the food, but well worth it.Apetizer - Bruscheta with special cheese heated perfectly with an awesome crunch. Wow.Sauces - white Carbonara sauce is creamy, perfectly salted and added spices made this a treat.Red Gnocchi - perfect balance of tomatoes and spices left a slight tangy taste and my taste buds wanting more.Service was fantastic, pleasant, personal.DrinksItalian IPA - wow. Been here 4 or 5 times, usually getting a pasta and appy. Consistently on point. Compared to most Italian places in town, at comparable prices, this place on another level.

We were nicely greeted by the host, the staff group are friendly and attentive. The ambience is cool with stylish touch in the decoration. Unfortunately the street level was warmer than downstairs room. Nice starting with focaccia bread and olive oil. The antipast octopus is worth to order one more. Pasta was okay. Wine took longer to be served. In the secondi, the grilled pork chop was delicious and fulfilling.

Underrated hidden gem restaurant in SoMa - can get busy, so make reservations, but there’s bar seating available too. Great service and staff, delicious no fuss pasta. Reasonably priced for SF. The octopus is delicious; I didn’t love the arancini and the pastas are perfectly cooked. Desserts also delicious.

italian food and the atmosphere at this place is super good. Loved this place from the first taste. The service was very friendly and attentive. It has a nice feel to it. Feeling here is similar to a place in Columbus I liked.

Lamb was phenomenal. Bar seating, lovely environment. Would go back time and again.

Good atmosphere, staffs are super warm. Also, good Italian foods for lunch.

Nye dinner was excellent. Price was modest and servings were generous. Would definitely comeback for the Polipo.
Tanya Gottlieb
Great food. I had a perfect traditional margarita, so can recommend that too. We sat downstairs and the acoustics make the room very noisy. Maybe try upstairs.
Zenobia Godschalk
Great food, and the service was highly attentive with a wonderful wine list. Acoustics make it difficult to hear others, so would not recommend for a large group if you want to hear everyone else in your party.

The restuarant is tucked in a corner. Our group decided to try restaurant based on recommendation from hotel. Our server was excellent and explained the entrees. Food was very authentic. The octopus appetizer was probably one of the best I have had. I ordered the pork chop entree and it was excellent. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Nice little Italian restaurant in the Mint plaza (directly across from the Blue Bottle) with good food and excellent service. Made a reservation but didn't really need one if you are planning to come early. There's an upstairs and downstairs (wine cellar) seating. If you prefer more lighting, opt for upstairs as the cellar has some mood lighting going on. The grilled octopus was exceptional: cooked really tender and full of flavor - served light with some olive oil. Definitely order that if you're mulling over an appetizer.
Isabelle Tran
Food is above average - try the octopus and calamari for entree. Pasta was delicious and cooked perfectly. Steak and lamb both good. Good portions for he price. Good selection of wines available. The place is dimly lit and cozy - perfect for a special night. Note mandatory service charges and penalties for no show bookings.
Larry Oliver
Hidden, but well worth the search! All SF dining spots should strive to be this charming and unpretentious.

We had a amazing dinner here with friends to celebrate the birthday of one if the friends. The foods here are fantastic and service is excellent. We ordered the cow stomach and grill octopus for appetizer and a few main dishes including Ravioli, spaghetti, oxtail, and Steak. I specially like their pasta for perfect Al dente cooking. Lovely environment that foster party atmosphere. We had good time here and enjoy the food and fellowship. Parking is a bit tough but the public parking garage on mission is perfect.

I’ve been here twice.. not sure what I got the first time, but it wasn’t memorable. I think it was fish... so I wouldn’t recommend it. The second time was steak, which was pretty good but not amazing. The ambiance is nice since it’s in a cute plaza, but the alleyways leading up to this plaza could be a bit sketch depending on which side you’re coming from. Also, it was a bit loud on the inside during lunchtime, so patio seating is a good option if it’s a nice day out. It’s worth checking out if you’re curious, but could also probably find something better for the price point. 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸

Highly recommended! Authentic Italian restaurant with a big variety of wine from the different regions in Italy. I had this restaurant on my list for a long time and was happy to finally give it a go when we spontaneously decided to go for a dinner with a group of friends. Thumps up for getting a group of 7 seated within five minutes upon arrival without reservation on a Sunday night. The service and food were great!

The service was good and quick. However the portion was very small.A beer and a pasta (without meat or seafood) costs 27$
